Tummy Time with Briggy is hilarious

He always looks like he's frantically swimming

Talk to the Hand---he's had enough for today!

I know the lighting's not great, i just thought it was funny how huge his head looks!

Briggy and Daddy snoozing away!

Grandma with Hammy...and the Easter Ham! (The were roughly the same size!)

Daddy with Briggy on Easter sunday

My handsome men!

Briggy biting Daddy's Ear! (sort of)

Mommy, Daddy, and Grandma and Grand-dad Tillotson decorated eggs on Easter for Brigham.

He's a little bored with the easter grass by now!

Daddy got him to calm down for a picture!

Briggy in the Easter Basket with his new Bunny Buddy!

I particularly enjoy this one...it looks like the bunny is attacking Brigham and he's terrified for his life!

Ahhh! Attack of the Killer Bunny!

Brig's One Month Check-up

Today both Briggy and I had our checkup's. Brigham is 8 lb's exactly and 21 inches. She said he was advanced in all the developmental things she checked for, which was suprising to her because of his preemie status. we were really happy to hear that, especially me...i feel guilty that he came out so early. for percentile's she said it was more acurate to go by him being born on his due date, so he was 75th in both weight and length. I think his head circumference was 14 or 14.5. We are so thankful for his health!!
My midwife sort of burst my bubble today on having another baby close to briggy. I told her we were hoping for them to be 18 months apart....because of my pre-eclampsia there is a high risk for a few problems (chronic-hypertension, problems with your kidneys)...all pretty scary stuff. she said we definitely had to weight a full year before trying for (a GIRL! hehe)--so my blood pressure can be monitered etc etc. Hopefully my blood pressure will continue to go down and I can get to a healthy place this time next year. Other than that, I am able to start excersizing and getting on to normalcy.
Oh, I almost forgot. Today was Brigham's first stroller adventure! Tom and I took Brig's to the mall to find a blessing outfit. (Let me tell you, the pickens are slim) All the boys suits had these big, gaudy crosses on them. We found one that didnt have any of that....but they are so expensive for the cheap quality that they are!! Im disapointed that its not a cute outfit, but we were desperate...we couldnt find anything else.

Happy Saint Patricks Day!

Yea for Saint Patty's Day!

Well, I had thought Briggy would have been born on this day, i was only 32 days off! My good friend Jackie bought this little bib set for him, it shows off his irish-ness! I think Tom's family is just english...but I am mostly Irish and Scottish. So Brigham is my little leprachaun! We had fun spending time with Grandma Tillotson today....the only downfall of the day is that I didn't make corned beef, cabbage, potatoes...the whole schpiel...its one of my favorite meals of the year. I went to Big Y today to get one, and I dont know if I was being blind as a bat, but i couldnt find any! Tomorrow we are going to the doctor for Brigham's one month checkup, so I'll make sure to post the stat's up later. Tom is guessing 8 lbs 1 oz, 22 inches, Tina guessed 8 lbs 2 oz, and I think he'll be 8 lbs 3 oz and 21.5 inches.....we will see!

for some reason, i cant get the image download button to work...i'll have to try to post the pictures tomorrow!

Play time with Briggy!

the past few days brigham has been.....demanding. im hoping its just a little growth spurt/phase he is going through this week, but ever since last friday brig has been having LONG drawn out crying spells (our favorites are from midnight to about 3:30 am...) hes also been spitting up like a madman. i was nervous that maybe something was wrong, but i think the spitting up has to do with him over-eating. he doesnt ever quit. he wants to eat every hour and a half or so...im starting to lose it! im praying for the day when i can get more than an hour bout of sleep. four hours sounds like heaven! other than being a bit.....fussy....brigham has wanted to start playing in the afternoon. he likes the bouncey chair, but on the gym mat he was having fun looking all around, swatting at the toys above him...and he actually did pretty well at "tummy time" im not exactly sure when you are supposed to start that, but i gave it a whirl the other day and he was scooting his legs and arms--it looked like he was trying to swim. he's lifting his head up (mostly to the side) a bit on his own too...i think these are all normal first month milestones, but the doctors all warned me not to get my hopes up that he would be "behind" since he was supposed to be born....yesterday! but since day one he has suprized us all with his growth and progression. all and all, things are going well at the tillotson home, mommy and daddy are just a bit drowsy! We plan on having Brigham's blessing at church on the 30th of march....i just need to find him a little white outfit! there is a cute vintage one online that my sister found from the fifties...im not sure if we'll make the bid, but i need to find something fast!
ps- he's wearing bibs in almost every picture, because of his rampant spitting up----he goes through so many outfits, and i hate to say this but...he stinks! i cant bathe him fast enough...that sour milk smell has GOT TO GO!

Brig's first Bath!

I had been holding off on giving Brig a "real" bath because he still had some umbilical cord guck in his belly button, but the doctor said it was okay now....so just in time for his 3 week birthday, Mommy, Daddy and Nana gave Brig a bath and he......loved it!!!!!

It started out a little rough..I didnt really plan on where to undress and take off his diaper (i had the tub set up on the kitchen table)....so after a little spritz of briggy pee, we plopped him in. I was anticipating a shreeeeeking response, but actually, he just lounged in there enjoying the pampering. He's a little prince. He loves to be stroked and massaged and LOVE LOVE LOVES attention...he really is a little "ham"

All and all it wasn't a half bad attempt...I just have to work on the transition phases.

My Little Sweet Pea!

Briggy has this little green swaddle that makes him look like he's a little sweet pea, and the boppy that sister wightman gave to him is covered with little sweet pea babies. we thought it'd make a cute picture: (by the way, brig HATES being in the swaddle--he loves his arms and little hands either by his face or stretched out and lounged out above his head. You'll hear him grunt on and off for the first 30 minutes or so once I put him down, trying to squeeze his hands out of the swaddle....and that little stinker WINS! he is so strong...When I go in to check on him, those little hands are sticking out!

My mother and I took Brigham to the doctor again on tuesday and had him weighed again...he's continuing his 2 oz a day weight gain!!! he was 6lbs 14 oz....so if he's on schedule today he's a whopping SEVEN LBS 2 OZ!!! Yeah!!!! My mother refers to him as "templeton" (on charlottes web) or a "savage" when he's eating. Not that he's chunky (yet), by any means...just the way he goes about it. He ALWAYS wants to eat. He gets this maniac look on his face every two hours...you can see it in a few pictures of Brig and my mom...we were trying to get a few nice pictures and it was about dinner time and he was letting us know!
