We cant let Addy and Auntie Amy have all the fun!

Briggy made me do it! actually, in all seriousness tom and i just recently made the decision to vote for obama. we were initially romney supporters and are still really bummed out that he didnt get the nominee, because seriously--mccain? yikes. thats a time bomb waiting to go off.
addy is right---we all need to become informed and vote!

Fancy Schmancy camera

Auntie Jessie and Uncle Collin have a real nice fancy schmancy camera. they snapped away and got some really nice pictures. heres a selection of briggy pics, ill have some of tom and i, as well as luau decorations posted at homemakinghaven.blogspot.com

hmmmm...

i have been contemplating whether or not to start feeding briggy cereal. ive read a lot about it and agreed its the best thing for him to wait until he's six months old. but lately he seem so unsatisfied with his feedings. normally he is never really cranky all throughout the day (but he hasnt been too pleasant the past week or so). we've been chalking it up to "teething" but i just dont know.....finally after his 7:30pm feeding he was still looking for more. so i mixed a tiny bit of cereal and gave him a couple bites----he seemed so delighted. i mean, he didnt take in very much at all (most of it on his shirt) but he is happy normal briggy now, just laying on a blanket having a nice time. i feel guilty for feeding him, should i be? ive read that allergies can come into play more when you feed early on and that their little digestive systems really arent ready until six months. If i do feed him im thinking i will feed him "dinner" like i did today, nurse him first and then feed a little cereal. can i do that for 1 1/2 months until he's ready for more at six? I just want to do the right thing and im always torn about what i read and what others are doing. any advice?

The following is not for the faint of heart!

oh my goodness. today was going along quite smoothly. i had a lot of "cleanup" catchup to do since we havent really been home the past two weeks. Briggy was playing very well by himself and napping for good spurts so i accomplished most of my chores. After feeding him this last time, I knew I had diaper DOODY soon after...but I got consumed with packing away all the luau decorations. I had him playing in the jumperoo and he was loving life and jumping around like crazy. So I finished up my packing and went over to jump around with briggy and snap some pics. im snapping away, we're giggling wildly having a grand old time. then i happened to look down and underneath my son was quite a large pile of you know what. POOP. icky gloppy nasty mustardy poop. (I told you this was not for the faint of heart) and maybe youre thinking this is all too much information, but i know some of my family will get a real kick out of the horror and hilarity of this all. So i pull my briggers out of the jumperoo contraption to find the front of the seat COMPLETELY covered in chunky spit up, and the other side COMPLETELY covered in his sticky gooey poo. then i examine my son more closely....his entire butt part of the diaper is soaked in poo and coming out of every crevice. poo is dripping down his leg....i grabbed a towel from the bathroom, covered the sink bottom, whipped off the diaper and rinsed him off before i soaped him all up and gave him a very well needed bath. holy POOP. I have never witnessed anything more disgusting in all my briggy days and let me tell you he's had some pretty icky ones. again, sorry for the "graphic" nature of this content, but these pictures dont even do it justice!

Here is us having fun:

Luau Weekend

We have been a very busy bunch lately. Today we got a taste of our everyday-boring old life---i was looking forward to it! Driving back and forth is really tiring (I cant believe I did that nearly every day for seven months while tom and I were dating/engaged) Hammy loves being around people so he has been loving this past month, hes such a HAM! Here are some shots with grandpa, grandpa's best friend Rob, Mommy, Daddy and Baby Bjorn (thanks again amy and jeff---we have liked using that lately)

*Im posting my luau decorating pic's on my other blog*

4 Month Check Up!

Brigham is a sleep now recovering from the terrible shots he just recieved. So I thought I'd jot down his stat's while I had them fresh in mind.
Take home weight: 5 lbs 5 oz 4 month weight: 14 lbs 2 oz!!!
Take home length: 18 inches 4 month length: 24 1/2 inches!
Take home head circumference: 13 inches 4 month head circumference: 15 3/4 inches!
He is in the 50-75% for weight and length, but only 10-20% for head size.
He's got a pewny little noggin. I asked the doc if it had any correlation to brain size....nope. Not that I didnt already know my Briggers is mighty clever.
One weird thing is that he can flip from back to belly (average age for that is more like 5/6 months) but he doesnt turn from belly to back (which is what babies his age normally do) Tom and I both were crawling at five months, so I asked the doctor what she thought when she saw Briggy doing his "fake" crawl and she said he looks like he should be up and running with that soon. I really hope so, I cant wait to see him scamper all around. The doctor also said he seems ready to eat solids, but I told her I'm holding off until 6-7 months. Later when he wakes up I want to take pictures of him in his crazy lime green bumbo. He loves sitting up!

My new blog!

Hey everyone!
Besides keeping tabs on my baby briggers, I have a new blog thats more "me" orientated.
check it out :)

Hip Hip Hooray---its Father's Day!

Briggy, Tom and myself have been singing that all day! We needed a little hip hooraying after this past week. (Brigham is finally sleeping his normal hours again!)
Last night we had a little Meet n Greet with one my best friends, Ambyr and her boyfriend Justin. Its the first time she's met briggy so we celebrated with a FOUR WHOLE MONTHS!!! birthday dinner. Tom grilled steaks deliciously well, I made a new potato salad recipe which is SO YUMMY--im a traitor to my mothers recipe and am only going to make this new recipe from now on! and Ambyr brought the fixings for some very delicious chocolate chip ice cream sandwiches. It was a great night and briggy has Auntie Amby as his current crush!

Today for Fathers Day we skipped Stake Conference (we are rotten people) and decided to lounge, eat and do whatever daddy wanted all day long. We had a lot of leftovers plus a big juicy new steak for dad plus bacon cheeseburgers. guy food galore. (who am i kidding, those are all my favorites)and tonight we are going to eat a tiramisu cheesecake i made earlier. we pretty much need to go to the gym twice a day the next week to make up for all of these devilish calories. anyway, briggy is having a blast "crawling" around (flayling his arms and legs around wildly) sitting up looking at the world and "walking around" he loves having his feet planted on the ground and he takes "steps" while we hold under his arms. He thinks he's all grown up. Brigham has his four month checkup tomorrow and I am very excited to see how much he's grown. he is such a hearty eater, he's starting to get heavy! hes just so solid! im guessing he'll be about 13 lbs. Here are some shots from yesterday's party and some shots with daddy and baby brigham!! :
