My Tricky little Treat.

Briggy sure is a TRICKSTER! I can't seem to get him to stay still for a good picture...but I had my second chance tonight in his spider costume, so here goes nothing!

Of course he has to give the grass and leaves a taste...

crawling around in leaves is fun!

Happy Halloween!

Thursday evening Briggy and I carved a funny-looking jack-o-lantern for daddy. We posed outside in the spppooooky dark too.

Briggy has to eat everything:

Grandma and Grandpa Urso gave Briggy this scary spider--hes been playing with it for days (chewing on the legs, to be precise)

how much is that doggie in the window?

It seems like I have been singing that non-stop for days. Lately Briggy has been INCREASINGLY wiggly and not very cooperative with diaper changing, the putting on of any garment, and sitting still for a millisecond while I attempt to take a photo. When I was pregnant with Brigham last fall, Tom won a stuffed doggie at a booth for him...it doesnt work EVERY time, but if I have him hold the dog and sing "HOW MUCH IS THAT DOGGIE IN THE WINDOW!!!" VERY ANNOYINGLY AND ENTHUSIASTICALLY!!!!
He usually is still enough to change. So lately, I've been dressing him in his doggie hat and slippers--I posted a picture of him in the brown doggie a few days ago, so I wanted to get a few of him with the white. Today, Briggy was NOT in the mood! He is way to distracted with crawling and climbing to be bothered with his silly mother.

I still have my GHETTO setup of boxes and random things to contain him and keep him away from dangerous things....but now hes figured out how to climb over the pillow and through the coffee table. Its his new fort. I am a constant nervous wreck with him....but I can't stop him!!!! Then right before his nap, he was trying to scamper away from me, and climbing over the box, he plop! landed right in the center of it. He actually sat in there for about 10 minutes sucking his thumb and watching tv. He is so funny to watch!

Our first Trunk or Treat!

(Well for Briggy and me at least!)
During Briggy's nap this afternoon I decorated our trunk all spiders to match my little baby spider, and I was "Spider Mommy Witch" with my purple spiderweb witch hat! Not the most creative costume, but we matched!
For the "Harvest Festival" party I made a snack---MONKEY FINGERS!!! (Chocolate covered bananas...something I plan on making for Briggy's monkey birthday party snack.)

Lets see, there was SO many cute costumes---I took a few pics of some kids I could get STILL for a moment...all the kids were running around like CRAZY hyped up on all the yummy sugar! We had fairy princesses, tinkerbelles, lady bugs, dinosaurs, elderly folk, cows, chickens, turtles and of course my itsy bitsy spider! Tom took a picture of Me and Briggy posing with Brock and his mommy, Jocelyn. It was a really fun night for the kids--Briggy had a great time boogying down with all the kids!

There were some fiesty teenage boys parked next to us that were hiding in the trunk and between the webs would pop out and silly string innocent candy seekers...pretty good idea!

and they called it...puppy love......

BRIGGY OFFICIALLY OFFICIALLY HAS HIS FIRST TOOTH! I know a posted about 4 months ago that he had one...but it was a false alarm...Now he FOR SURE has one! Its so tiny..like the tippy top of a candy corn. Its one of the center bottom teeth. Today was reallllly cold, so when I had to run a couple errands I bundled my little puppy up!

(getting into mischief as usual.....he climbs up things and likes to stand!)

All bundled up

On Sunday we took a lovely stroll with the Smiths. Baker and Adee have the COOLEST stroller! They also were able to show off their fast running! Briggy wanted to join in on the fun! Here are some pictures of his big boy coat!
(I just realized how FREQUENTLY I !!!! after everything I type!)

Hootie and the...Bearded Man

During the day my living room is turned UPSIDE DOWN! Briggy and his toys are master and I am a wall-building laborer and defender! If you notice in the background of the picture you can see random items lined up against things that I deem "dangerous" or "danger zones--beep beep" I say this to Briggy as he nears, and yet he doesn't seem to get it!!! I have a long skinny stroller box lined up against the lower tv stand, random items against the sliding glass door with those (sharp) blinds, a pillow against my coffee table (where I have a few pictures, magazines, dvds and a basket of pretty-smelling stuff) and then to blockade off the living room there is a wall of blankets, boxes and pillows. I think I need to quit being so cheap and go by one of those expandable/detractable play-pen fences!!! He is seriously DRIVING ME LOCCCCA.

Then (as promised) a better shot of Briggy's new pal, Hootie. Hootie Jr, I should say.....My sister Jessie has had a "hootie" almost all her life (I might have ripped the beak off of it in a spiteful seven year old rage....) So when I saw this little owl when I was pregnant, I thought...Briggy needs a hootie! I usually have him perched right up next to Brigham. This tuesday (if the weather permits) We plan on having a "Woodland Creature Picnic" in the Park! Briggy has a collection of all my favorite animals...owls, squirrels, hedgehogs, bears and moose!

And last, but not least....I wanted to show you a picture of a SCARY! bearded man. Tom hurt his index finger really bad (I should have taken a picture of the insane bruising and swelling) playing soccer last saturday. Since then, he hasn't been able to shave or do much with that hand....so I took a picture the other night before he shaved for this weeks church meeting (it was getting a bit unruly) here is my scruffy stud!

First "real" stroller ride...

Well, those of you who know me, know I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed when it comes to assembling things or anything of that nature....(and unfortunately Tom's the same way....) We couldn't figure out how to adjust the seat in Briggy's stroller so he could be sitting upright and not in the way reclined state that it was in...so I have been using the bjorn ALL the time because Brigham loves being able to see everyone and everything around him...and when I didn't have the bjorn, I used the carseat hookup with the stroller which....I kind of felt Briggy was getting too old for....since I was spending time with Jocelyn and Brock today I thought I'd have her take a look at it since she probably had the baby-product know how I was lacking....and she did! She showed me how to adjust it and it's been smooth strollin' all day! After visit teaching sister vasicek this evening (ladies get excited about sharon's RS lesson the 26th--its gonna be a good one!) we went to walmart for some trunk or treat goodies and we cruised all around and Briggy LOVED it. He thought he was big times for sure! Everyone got a good view of how cute my pumpkin is too! Here's a pic of his very first "Big Boy" stroller adventure!

ps-- i thought i'd mention that the little critter briggy has been attached to lately and sort of shown in this picture is a little owl. we named him "hootie" in honor of auntie jessie. (this time i wont rip off the beak, i promise! love you, auntie)

My memory is failing me...

Brigham is 8 months old now, and right around 18 lbs. He is showing a real interest in "standing" lately, and gets a kick out of standing up with support of the couch. I wanted to take a picture today, but the camera had been charging upstairs....I'll have to plan better next time. It would be such a fun christmas gift if my little boy was struttin' around!
I stopped by the Sheaffers today, and had a chance to hold Holly. She is about 7 lbs 19.5 inches....and I was terrified to hold her! She was so small! My memory is failing me because I cannot remember Briggy being that small. He was SMALLER! and holding her seemed so foreign. I know generally speaking I have a horrible memory...but my own child? only 8 months ago? I felt so awkward holding such a fragile infant....how did I do it just a few months ago? Sometimes I feel like a barbarian how I have to lugg Brigs around....he doesn't let me hold him gently anymore...hardly any snuggle time...he always wants to be scooting around on his own (making sure I am watching him at all times...heaven forbid I glance away...)Babies really do grow up so incredibly fast...its pretty crazy.
I have no pictures of post! Hopefully I'll get some cute ones this weekend!

Bigger and Better

....Everything's bigger and better in Texas.....
Isn't that the saying? Well, from the looks of it, it seems that way to me! Tom and I have pretty much decided we want to move there. His degree is in sports management and he wants to eventually work in a school's athletic department...but being stuck way out here in Mass has stifled most opportunities for him to go on interviews (and seeing that the south is the hot spot for sports...thats the area he was looking in anyway) So we brainstormed and thought that maybe he should transfer through rent-a-center and relocate as a manager down there. Because housing is so affordable down there, we might actually be able to get a real HOME and not some rinky-dink apartment....anyway, most of the new texas houses in our price range are about 2000-2500 sq. feet 4 bedroom 2 1/2 bath. Perfect. Most are brick exterior and look very similar, but I came upon this new home that is different and oh so cute. I love it. I want it! Its in McKinney, TX...which is also where my uncle lives. Im hoping we can move down there...even though my home will probably be sold by then :(
Here it is!

Im going to have to get briggy a cowboy hat and boots.....

Fall Photos!!

Here are some photos of all of us from the past few days!
On Wednesday we drove up to Vermont to visit Joseph Smith's birthplace. We could not have planned a more perfect day for weather and foliage.
Did you know that Joseph Smith has some interesting relatives...namely FDR, Nixon, Bush, Ford, and Winston Churchill? Oh..and that Emma was his seventh cousin? And that Emma is actually even MORE directly related to President Bush? Isn't that crazy? I had never heard of that! They all originate from the Mayflower passenger John Howland.

Then we took some super cute pictures of my little Briggy! He'll be EIGHT MONTHS next week! I can't hardly believe how fast time is zooming by. We picked out pumpkins...a big lumpy one for tom and me and a cute little round one for briggy :)

Briggy attempting to gnaw on a wheat bagel for the first time....

Not much happened...

Alisa took a lot of really cute pictures that I dont have on my computer yet...but when I get them, I'll be sure to post them!
